Block your Friday lunch now to join us for an afternoon chair yoga + meditation sesh with our bud, Mel! 🧘♀️ Mel is a 4-year breast cancer survivor and certified yoga teacher, also certified in yoga for cancer recovery. She loves to teach yoga to the breast cancer community and share the practices that helped her heal through her own recovery. We are thrilled to be partnering with her on this virtual event!
Research has shown that yoga + meditation can have amazing benefits during cancer (and after) treatment, including:
-Decreases cancer-related fatigue and pain
-Improves mental health (goodbye stress and chemo brain!)
-Strengthens muscles and range of motion
-Improves immune function and your sleep cycle
This (all levels) class will be full of some feel-so-good stretches focusing on the shoulders + chest – the movements used will invite healing into the body by stretching + strengthening muscles, with a little meditation sprinkled in after. Take this opportunity to set aside a little R&R time, tune into your body, and spend your lunch break on the right breath.
NOTE: Cancer diagnosis and/or previous yoga experience are not required to attend — all are welcome! Participants should be cleared by their medical doctors to do such physical activity.
What you'll need:
-A quiet place to do class
-Comfy clothes that don't restrict movement
-A chair (with no arms or wheels)
-A strap (can be a fitness strap, belt, scarf, or anything long enough to hold with both arms wide apart)
RSVP through the link above, and we'll share the Zoom link and other important details with you beforehand.
By clicking the RSVP button you are agreeing to the following:
I am aware that participation in exercise may result in accident or injury, and assumes the risk connected with the participation in exercise represents that the undersigned suffers from NO physical impairment which would prohibit participation in exercise and has been cleared by their medical team to participate in exercise.
